    Marco Alarcon is a partner at Estudio Echecopar and focuses in the practice areas of Banking and Finance, Projects and Real Estate.

    Practice focus

    Marco has extensive experience in local and international financings, as well as in highly complex corporate finance transactions. His experience includes structured finance, syndicated loans, secured transactions, project finance, acquisition financings, liability management, real estate financing and private and public securities issuances, including asset-backed transactions. Advises financial entities, both local and foreign, investment banks (acting as lenders or arrangers), as well as borrower companies from different industries.

  • Experience

    Some of the most relevant transactions in which Marco has participated include:

    • Counsel to Credicorp Capital Servicios Financieros, as arranger, and Banco de Crédito del Perú, as financial lessor, in the financial lease granted to Mall Plaza Inmobiliaria S.A. of PEN 290 million for the building, equipment and start up of the mall center Mall Plaza Comas.
    • Advised Goldman Sachs & Co. in the acquisition of mortgage loan portfolios, as well as, several real estate properties from two major Peruvian banks. The acquisition included the creation of assets-backed trust agreements and the execution of servicing agreements for the administration of the loans and real estate properties.
    • Advised Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Limited, Dubai (DIFC) Branch and ICBC Peru Bank in the mid-term loan agreement granted to Mota-Engil Peru for refinancing of debts. The facility included a pledge agreement over banks accounts, an asset trust, among others.
    • Counsel to Credicorp Capital Servicios Financieros and Banco de Crédito del Perú in the mid-term loan facility for USD 100 million granted to Refinería La Pampilla S.A.A. for the development of projects in Peru.
    • Advised Darby Latin America Private Debt Fund III, L.P. in the loan facility granted to Abengoa Perú and its subsidiary Omega Perú Operación y Mantenimiento for repayment of debts and working capital. The facility included a pledge agreement over shares and bank accounts, and an asset trust.
    • Advised Credicorp Capital Fondo de Inversión Inmobiliario Peru in the structuring and negotiation of an usufruct agreement to be entered with WeWork Peru S.R.L. for a term of 15 years over several floors in a building located in the financial center of Lima.
    • Counsel to Scotiabank Peru and Credicorp Capital, as arrangers, and Banco de Crédito del Perú and Scotiabank Perú, as lenders, in the financing for PEN 150 million granted to Corporación Primax S.A. for the acquisition of the shareholder majority of Corporación Pecsa S.A.
    • Counsel to Banco Santander Peru and Scotiabank Peru in the loan facility granted to Costa del Sol S.A. for the acquisition of Hotel Libertador Arequipa and Hotel Libertador Trujillo owned by Inversiones Nacionales de Turismo S.A. (Grupo Brescia). The facility included a cash flow trust, an asset trust, among other security.
