    Claudia is an associate at Estudio Echecopar member firm of Baker & McKenzie International. She focuses her practice in International and Domestic Arbitration. She has participated in major international arbitrations under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules and the International Arbitration Chamber of Paris Rules, conducted in Spanish and English.

    Her experience also includes the advice in the structuring, development and performance of highly complex projects of transportation infrastructure, construction (EPC, EPCM, PCM, PMO, NEC, FIDIC and other kind of project management), telecommunications, sanitation and works for taxes.

  • Experience

    • She has participated in important international and domestic arbitrations representing the Peruvian Government, government bodies and private companies, regarding to concession agreements, transportation infrastructure, private investments, construction, etc.
    • She was part of the team that represented a highway concessionaire in an international commercial arbitration regarding to the payment of toll, validity of the concession agreement and several important agreements. The arbitration was seated in Washington D.C. and was conducted under UNCITRAL Rules, in Spanish and English. Our client obtained a totally favorable award. Currently, she represents, jointly with the American law firm White & Case LLP, the same concessionaire in other complex international commercial arbitration; and also represents him in a negation regarding to the same project.
    • She was part of the team that represented a highway concessionaire in an international commercial arbitration regarding to toll tariff and several disputes arise during the execution of the concession agreement. The arbitration was seated in Paris and was conducted under International Arbitration Chamber of Paris Rules, in Spanish and English. Our client obtained a favorable award. Currently, she represents, jointly with the law firm King & Spalding, the same concessionaire in a second international commercial arbitration.
    • She is part of the team that represents concessionaires in international commercial arbitrations and investment arbitrations regarding to concession agreements of highway infrastructure and highly complex disputes of economic, technical and legal issues that arises in the performance of the contracts. She participated in the preparation of complex cross-examinations to economic and technical experts.
    • She is part of the team that represents a Mexican concessionaire in an important negotiation regarding to a major PPP Contract of a national telecommunication project.
    • She represents an airport concessionaire in a domestic arbitration regarding to the performance of the concession agreement. This proceeding is seated in Lima and is conducted under Lima Chamber of Commerce Rules. Previously, she represented the same concessionaire in two other arbitrations and our client obtained favorable awards. Currently, she also advises the same concessionaire in the analysis of several and varied controversies which arises during the contractual performance.
    • She represents a Colombian concessionaire in two domestic arbitrations related to disputes involving legal, economic and technical concepts related to a road infrastructure concession agreement. These arbitrations are seated in Lima and are conducted under Lima Chamber of Commerce Rules. In addition, she has advised the same concessionaire in the structuring and development of Addendums of the PPP Contract, and the participation in direct negotiations during the contractual performance.
    • She advises a private contractors in two major infrastructure projects under NEC Contracts signed with an important public entity. Her advices includes the representation in the dispute resolution mechanisms, such as submission under Dispute Boards.
    • She advises a private company in the performance of construction contracts, including the PMC, PMO and EPC contracts, and different kinds of project managements.
    • She advises a private company in negotiations of the performance of agro-industrial projects, which included the analysis of EPC contracts and technical specific documents. Her advises includes the follow-up and review of complex technical documents and reports.
    • She was part of the team that advise Consorcio Fypasa, successful bidder, in the procurement procedure for the award of the Project "Sistema de Tratamiento de Aguas Residuales - PTAR Titicaca".
    • She advised a Spanish concessionaire in the performance of PPP Contract "Longitudinal de la Sierra Tramo 2". This road Project involves rehabilitation, maintenance and operation activities. Her advice includes the structuring and development of Addendums of the PPP Contract and the participation in direct negotiations during the contractual performance.
    • She participated in advising foreign investors regarding to potential breaches of international investment treaties.
