    Biography

    Attorney with experience on dispute resolution in the fields of international investment and commercial arbitration. Also, with experience in national arbitrations representing clients of different industries, like electrical, hydrocarbons, mining, construction, concessions, among others. She has been part of Estudio Echecopar's International Arbitration team in large-scale, multi-million dollar disputes with seats in Washington D.C, New York, Paris, Mexico, Miami, and Lima. She represents clients in international commercial arbitrations before the ICC, CIAC and under the UNCITRAL rules.

    Among the most relevant matters Ms. Espejo has been and is involved are the following:

    • She has been part of teams that have represented the Peruvian State, state entities and private companies in international and national arbitrations, regarding various matters such as energy, hydrocarbons, mining, private investment and concessions, among others.
    • She has been part of the team that together with White & Case LLP represented the Republic of Peru in the case Renco Group Inc v. Republic of Peru, regarding the operations of the Oroya Metallurgical Complex by Doe Run Peru.
    • She has been part of the team that together with White & Case LLP represent the Republic of Peru in the case Exeteco Internacional Company S.L. v. Republic of Peru, Ad hoc UNCITRAL arbitration, regarding a public bid for the concession for the construction of a prison in Northern Peru.
    • She has worked in an international commercial arbitration related to License Contracts for the exploitation of hydrocarbons in Peru, under New York arbitration law and rules of the Inter-American Commercial Arbitration Commission.
    • She has worked in an international commercial arbitration related to an infrastructure concession contract with seat in París, under the International Arbitral Chamber of Paris.
    • She has worked in an international commercial arbitration related to an infrastructure concession contract with seat in Washington D.C., under the UNCITRAL Rules.
    • She has worked in an international commercial arbitration linked to the execution of a contract for services of supervision of works, under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce of Paris.
    • She is currently working in an international commercial arbitration linked to the execution of a concession contract, under Washington arbitration law and UNCITRAL Rules.
    • She is currently working in an international commercial arbitration linked to execution of a concession contract, under Paris arbitration law and under the administration and rules of the International Arbitral Chamber of Paris.
    • Also, she is currently part of the team representing private companies in different national arbitrations, mainly linked to contracts for the execution of public works and the provision of related services, among others.
