  • Biography


    Andrea is a senior associate in Estudio Echecopar. She has a solid knowledge in Peruvian regulatory banking and insurance matters, having advised financial institutions and insurance companies, both domestic and foreign, and having participated in credit and insurance portfolio purchase transactions.

    Her experience in the financial industry includes her prior experience as in-house counsel of the major bank in Peru, where she has provided legal advice to users from different areas on suppliers contracting and banking regulation, including data privacy and anti-money-laundering regulations, which gives her a comprehensive perspective of how the industry works.

    Andrea also has experience representing financial institutions (as lenders or arrangers), and borrowers in all kinds of domestic and cross-border financing transactions.

    Her experience includes advising national and foreign companies in corporate and contractual matters.

    • Advised Compañia de Seguros de Vida Camara in the acquisition of the disability, survival and burial expenses insurance policies issued by Rigel Perú Compañía de Seguros for the benefit of the private pension fund system members.
    • Advised Goldman Sachs & Co. in the acquisition of mortgage and consumer loan portfolios from two Peruvian major banks. The acquisition included the creation of assets-backed trust agreements and the execution of servicing agreements for the administration of the loans and real estate properties.
    • Advised Larraín Vial SAFI in the acquisition of a mortgage loan portfolio for USD 7.7 million for social housing of Caja Municipal de Ahorro y Crédito de Sullana.
    • Advised General Atlantic in the acquisition of significant shareholding in D Local Group LTD, owner of the leading payment platform in emerging markets, which allows access to unbanked population and traditional payment platform customers to make payments over 450 global e-commerce companies.
    • Advised Scotiabank Peru in the financial leasing granted to Saga Falabella for S/ 100 million for the construction and installation of a distribution center located in Lurín.
    • Advised Banco Santander Peru and Scotiabank Peru in the loan granted to Costa del Sol for USD 34.3 million for the acquisition of Libertador Arequipa Hotel and Libertador Trujillo Hotel, owned by Inversiones Nacionales de Turismo, part of the Brescia Group.
