Estudio Echecopar, member firm of Baker McKenzie International, acted as Peruvian counsel to  Consorcio Transmantaro S.A. in connnection with the offer of its 4.700 % Senior Notes due 2034 for an aggregate principal amount of USD 200,000,000 under Rule 144A and Regulation S of the Securities Act of 1933 (the “Notes"). The Notes were issued in a reopening transaction and form a single series with the USD 400,000,000 principal amount of Notes that were originally issued by Consorcio Transmantaro S.A. on April 16, 2019.

The Notes are labeled as “green bonds” and the use of net proceeds of the offering is to finance and refinance eligible green projects to increase and facilitate the connection of renewable energy sources to the general network, including the refinancing of facility used to build the Mantaro-Nueva Yanango-Carapongo and the Nueva Yanango Nueva Huánuco transmission lines, and to promote energy efficiency improvements to transmission infrastructure including grid projects, smart sensors, and automation systems.
