Estudio Echecopar, member firm of Baker McKenzie International, advised Viettel Perú S.A.C. (“Viettel Perú”) in the granting of a medium-term financing from Banco de Crédito del Perú for an amount of up to S/ 150'000,000.00, to be used for (i) repayment of short-term debt and (ii) to finance capital expenditures incurred in connection with the investments being made in Peru for the provision of public telecommunication services. Within the framework of the aforementioned loan, Viettel Peru established an asset trust as collateral in favor of Banco de Crédito del Perú, which included telecommunications infrastructure owned by Viettel Peru (towers, antennas, among others).

The structuring of the loan was particularly complex because of the amount of assets given as collateral and, especially, the complexity and importance of these assets for the business of Viettel Perú.

Partner Marco Alarcón and associate Mikela Echeandía advised Viettel throughout the process.
