The USD 350 million Peruvian Road Project Financing on which Baker McKenzie provided advice to Autopista del Norte (AUNOR), a subsidiary of Aleatica, was named Deal of the Year by the International Financial Law Review (IFLR) at the IFLR Americas Awards 2021.
Last year, the Firm's transactional practice was shortlisted in the same category by the IFLR, which celebrates the most legally innovative cross-border transactions, attesting to its strong presence in large-scale project finance deals and growing capabilities in Latin America.
The team provided support with the Peruvian and New York legal aspects in connection with the financing for the construction works and completion of the road project, including Red Vial 4 and Vía de Evitamiento Chimbote in Peru.
Partner José A. Morán led the New York and Chicago teams with support from Juan Carlos Gonzalez on project finance and Karl Egbert and Brian Lee on derivatives. Partner Juan Carlos de los Heros led the Peru team with the support of associate Fernando Sam.
