Peru: The OEFA assumes environmental supervision and oversight functions in the education sector

On 31 August 2024, Board of Directors Resolution N.° 00012-201-OEFA/CD, was published, whereby the process of transferring the functions of evaluation, supervision, inspection and sanction in environmental matters from the Ministry of Education to the OEFA (Environmental Assessment and Control Agency) was completed.

The OEFA will assume the aforementioned functions as of 2 September of this year, with respect to projects and activities related to infrastructure in the areas of education, sports and recreation.
