INDECOPI has updated the four rankings related to the important work of eliminating bureaucratic barriers in 2023.
The first ranking lists the top five public entities that have imposed bureaucratic barriers, including the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima and the Provincial Municipality of Huancayo.
The second ranking shows the top five entities with the highest number of bureaucratic barriers voluntarily eliminated. This information is very valuable, because it shows that once denounced or warned ex officio by INDECOPI, instead of retaliating or persisting with the obstacles, they remove the bureaucratic barrier imposed when they become aware of its illegality or unreasonableness. This happened, for example, with the Provincial Municipality of Callao, which removed 175 bureaucratic barriers, voluntarily, in the first half of the year.
No less important is the ranking of the employees who collaborated with this voluntary removal.
On the other hand, we highlight the ranking of prevention measures that show the top three entities that have implemented prevention measures for the removal of bureaucratic barriers, with the municipalities of La Punta and San Isidro in second and third place during the first half of the year, respectively, and the Municipality of Pachacamac in first place during the second half of the year.
Some of the bureaucratic barriers identified in these rankings have been promoted by our study, such as the one that determined the illegality of suspending administrative procedures.
We highlight INDECOPI's important work, through an easy-to-understand tool to know the efforts in administrative simplification and promotion of market development for both companies and entrepreneurs.
